After 10 straight years, BMW North America is returning to the Super Bowl advertising scene. Super Bowl is the largest advertising opportunity in America, and the most expensive too. This will be one of the busiest periods of new model and product launches in BMW history. The automaker confirmed that between 2010 and 2011, more than 60% of their total inventory will be new vehicles — thus they need effective ways to advertise these cars.
Marketing communications manager at BMW Stacey Morris said: “We’re in the window of our biggest launch period in history and the Super Bowl gives us the stage to make that big impact.” This includes the BMW 6 Series coupe and convertible models, the 5 Series sedan, the 2011 X3 sports utility vehicle, and the ActiveE electric car.
Morris did not give out details about the Super Bowl, but the agency tasked to create the Super Bowl ads will be MDC Partners’ Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal & Partners. BMW will use the opportunity to advertise in Super Bowl to introduce their electric vehicle to the market.
