BMW will sell their first hybrid supercar in 2013

In an effort towards sustainable mobility, BMW will be selling their first fuel-efficient hybrid supercar in 2013. The Vision Efficient Dynamics vehicle will accelerate to 100 kilometers/hour in 4.8 seconds. Carbon emissions are very low at 99 grams per kilometer. This has immediately resulted to positive reception from the public.
Juergen Pieper, an analyst at Bankhaus Metzler in Frankfurt, says: “It’s important for BMW to communicate even small progress to cement its perceived role as a leader in hybrid and environmental technology. It would help if they’re the first to sell such cars. But it’s going to take a while to make them count in terms of earnings.” BMW recognizes this fact but it still confident that the Vision Efficient Dynamics will be competitive in the market because of its important qualities such as speed, acceleration, fuel efficiency, carbon emission rate, and of course the price.
BMW is not compromising the driving pleasure of the vehicle. This hybrid sports car’s acceleration can be closelu compared to the M6 supercar while emitting just 70% less CO2 emissions. It aims to shift the focus of the market to BMW.
