According to Fortune’s list of the “World’s Most Admired Companies for 2017”, BMW holds the first place among automotive companies. 21st on the list of all companies, BMW beats the second car company Toyota, which is in 34th place. The comprehensive survey researched 1,500 companies for this list. 1,000 of them were the largest companies in the U.S., and 500 were the non-U.S. Fortune’s Global 500 companies. They were chosen based on revenue.

In order to find out which 50 are the absolute best, the Korn Ferry Hay Group (in collaboration with Fortune) asked nearly 4,000 directors, executives, and security analysts to choose 10 companies they personally admire the most.

The first five places on the list are held by Apple, Amazon.com, Starbucks, Berkshire Hathaway, and Disney.
