BMW X1 Parts Suppliers

The PSA/Peugeot-Citroen-owned supplier Faurecia SA will make significant contributions to the BMW X1. This small crossover will get front-end modules, complete front seats and side airbags from Faurecia’s plant in Leipzig, Germany.
Other suppliers will also contribute to the manufacturing of the X1’s powertrain. The list includes ZF Friedrichshafen AG of Germany providing the six-speed manual transmission, the second-generation six-speed automatic transmission, suspension components, dampers and plastic parts.

ZF Lenksysteme GmbH will be providing the X1’s rack-and-pinion steering system and steering column.

Rieter Automotive Systems and Rieter Textile Systems’ “Rieter Ultra Silent” is the new material for the underbody panels and the under-engine shields that reduces exterior noise levels by 1.5 decibels and 45% weight.

BorgWarner Turbo Systems will be supplying the X1’s regulated two-stage turbocharger.

The BMW X1 is manufactured at BMW’s Leipzig plant and will be sold at $38,380 in Germany.
