Sources from Munich say that the BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe will not only offer a non-removable study center console with cupholder and cubby, it will also have a 3-seat rear bench. Because of the size of the large console in the middle of the car, it divides the rear buckets. Instead of having to accommodate more people, the space is just enough for two people to fit in. Rest assured that the bucket seats offer comfort and support. But the legroom and headroom is a bit small, and might feel a bit cramped. For people more that 6 feet tall, this becomes a problem and a pain during long drives. Thus, the offer of an optional 3-seat rear bench is most likely to happen. The CEO of BMWNA, Jim O’Donnel, confirmed that they will be offering an optional bench seat, but not in the 2011 release. The demand for the additional seat are coming in, against the original expectations of BMW that this will not be that marketable. Adding the additional bench seat will definitely add to the sales of the X6.
