Colliaux leads the 2016 BMW Motorrad Race Trophy

As expected, the 2016 BMW Motorrad Race Trophy registrations has continued to increase. At the moment, there are already 90 registrations coming from 19 different countries of the world. A total of 46 teams will be racing this year in 20 different championship classes. Registration is still open until the last day of June, 2016. This year, the BMW Motorrad Race Trophy is made up of a total of 28 classes in 21 international and national championships. It is surely and exciting season this year!

In the standings, there is also a new front-runner: Benjamin Colliaux (FR). Colliaux had a great weekend at Nogaro in the French European Bikes Championship (FR EU). He leads the standings with 101.54 Race Trophy points. Together with his fellow BMW riders, they secured a win and four more podium finishes. Tied in second place at the scoreboard is Dominik Vincon (DE) and Stefan Kerschbaumer (AT). They race in the Superstock class of the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC STK) and have 100.95 points respectively.

The BMW S 1000 RR raced to the podium in the in the French Superbike Championship (FSBK) as well. Kenny Foray (FR) took the third place. The BMW S 1000 RR took a place at the podium for the second time this season at the second round of the 2016 French Superbike Championship (FSBK). Kenny Foray (FR) secured third place under the Tecmas Racing Team BMW S 1000 RR for the first two races. He fell back in the middle of the race but was able to catch up and recover. He was also able to set the fastest race lap.

Meanwhile in Suzuka (JP), the 2016 MFJ Superbike All Japan Road Race Championship (MFJ) has officially started at the Suzuka Circuit. Eight BMW S 1000 RRs will be joining the race there. The first race of the season also served as a qualification round for the “Suzuka 8 Hours” endurance classic, which will be held in July.
