The 2025 MINI Cooper SE represents a significant step forward with its dedicated electric architecture, co-developed with Great Wall Motors. Departing from the petrol-powered models built on BMW’s UKL1 platform, the SE introduces an EV chassis designed for optimal efficiency and dynamic performance. With a 160kW electric motor generating 330Nm of torque, the SE offers immediate and smooth acceleration. Its 54kWh lithium-ion battery provides a WLTP-rated range of 402km, supported by advanced regenerative braking systems. Drivers can choose from three intensity levels or engage B mode for single-pedal driving. Charging at speeds up to 95kW, the battery reaches 80% capacity in about 30 minutes on a DC fast charger, making it practical for daily use and road trips.
Inside, the MINI Cooper SE blends retro charm with cutting-edge technology. The standout feature is a 9.4-inch circular touchscreen running Mini’s Operating System 9, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Augmented-reality navigation and energy monitoring tools add functionality, while fabric-covered dash panels and innovative lighting reflect MINI’s focus on sustainability and design. The cabin optimises space for drivers and passengers, although taller individuals might find the layout compact.
The SE includes an extensive suite of advanced safety and driver assistance systems.
