There’s an eternal debate among car enthusiasts about which car is the most beautiful of all time. Is it the E-Type Jaguar, the Lamborghini Miura, or the original Citroen DS? It isn’t easy to get a proper answer, but Autocar’s team thought they would give it a try and name their top 100 most beautiful cars of all time. Surprisingly, there are five BMW models included, and it’s not even expected.
The list begins at 100, the least beautiful car in the top 100. And works its way to the most beautiful car in history at number one. So let’s have a look at the items from BMW on the list. So let’s take a look at the BMW items on the list.
73. BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe
It’s not too much of a surprise, but it’s always good to see it on the list. The 6 Series Gran Coupe is undoubtedly one of the finest BMWs of the modern period. It’s a beautiful, elegant four-door “coupe” that seems to look stunning every year. Although its successor, the 8 Series Gran Coupe, is a fantastic looking car on its own, it’s still not as pretty as the original.
58. MINI Cooper
While this is not technically a BMW, it was also developed by the BMW Group. As BMW re-launched the MINI to the marketplace, it was a master class to redesign a classic. Not only was it easily identifiable as a Mini, but it also looked sleek (at that time) and still looks good today. In the future, the resurrected MINI Cooper will be just as classic as the original, simply because of its style.
51. BMW i8
Actually, we’re a little shocked to see the BMW i8 on this list. The i8 is a stunning vehicle and a superb build, but not necessarily elegant, in the conventional sense. Is it a fascinating, awe-inspiring, but beautiful thing? Sure, Autocar thinks so. Honestly, the BMW i8 is one of my favorite contemporary design, but I’m not sure it’s stunning. However, it is surprisingly high on this list, which is a testament to its outstanding architecture.
24. BMW 3.0 CSL
This isn’t a surprise. The BMW 3.0 CSL is an absolutely gorgeous car. It showcases classic sports car dimensions, clean lines, and a lovely greenhouse style that looks amazing and welcoming as a driver. The original CSL-badged car is one of BMW’s best-looking cars in its own history, and obviously, Autocar thinks it’s one of the most amazing cars in any brand in history.
20. BMW 507
If we had to make a list of the gorgeous BMWs of all time, it would be impossible not to put the 507 at the top of the list. The BMW 507 was one of the most beautiful cars ever built when it was new in the ’50s, and it’s still one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Its proportions are beautiful, and its specifications are just as sweet. The 507 has an unmistakable style and inspired one of BMW’s other great-looking vehicles, the Z8.
