From 0 to 62 in 3.2 Seconds: Witness the BMW M3 CS in Action

When it comes to the BMW G80 family, the M4 CSL takes the crown as the hardcore track car, but the M3 CS reigns supreme as the serious performance machine. While the M4 CSL boasts power and lightweight engineering, it struggles to utilize its 543 horsepower due to traction issues. In contrast, the M3 CS, equipped with xDrive all-wheel drive, effortlessly puts all that power to the road. AutoTopNL’s latest video offers an exciting glimpse into the M3 CS’s impressive performance.

Consider the BMW M3 CS as a CSL-lite version; it’s faster, sharper, and more capable than the standard M3, although it lacks some of the lightweight features found in the CSL. Despite this, the M3 CS still offers a slightly stripped-out interior, a carbon fiber hood, and reduced sound-deadening materials. These changes result in a weight reduction of around 75 lbs compared to the standard M3 Competition xDrive, which positively impacts its performance.

The BMW M3 CS hits 0-62 mph in a blazing 3.2 seconds with its 543 hp, matching the power of the M4 CSL. The M3 Competition xDrive has achieved sub-three-second 0-60 mph times in some videos, worth mentioning. Timing equipment variations could explain the slight discrepancy. Regardless, 3.2 seconds is an incredibly quick time for a sedan of the M3 CS’s size.

The M3 CS also delivers a distinct auditory experience. Equipped with titanium silencers, it produces a slightly angrier and more captivating exhaust note compared to the standard model. This aggressive sound perfectly complements the ‘CS’ badge and enhances the overall driving experience. Additionally, the M3 CS’s aesthetic appeal is heightened by its striking wheels, subtle aero enhancements, and the optional gold wheel finish. While opinions may vary on the gold wheels with the Signal Green color scheme, it’s hard to overlook the fact that BMW’s inclusion of Signal Green as a stock option is truly remarkable.
