General Motors is eager to pursue partnership with BMW

BMW has recently announced their partnership with Saab. Now, General Motors are vocal in trying to form a strategic partnership in developing technology and new products with BMW. Rumor has it that General Motors has been asking BMW to be a part of a joint venture. they have also been vocal at the 2010 Paris Motor Show about the partnership, as they stated that they are open to everyone for future collaborations.

BMW has already worked with General Motors, Daimler, and Chrysler in the hybrid system for the BMW X6 ActiveHybrid. If ever this strategic partnership pushes through, Wall Street Journal thinks that BMW will take the bigger role of providing engines for General Motors’ cars. BMW Group will also benefit from the partnership through cutting costs and increasing profit.
