Live Photos of the Latest G42 2 Series

The G42 2 Series Coupe was finally introduced in public at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed. The first one was spotted parked on a street in Munich. The first series-production models were spotted on public roads.

The G42 is a well-executed compact coupe with classic characteristics which makes it phenomenal. After the uproar caused by recent designs such as the G2x 4 Series and iX, BMW has taken a practical approach with their new 2 Series Coupe. The compact 2-door model highlights the brand’s classic motifs. As a result, it delivers the traditionally-styled Hofmeister kink, the slim, horizontally-displaced kidney grille, and the straight shoulder line.

A Munich resident has taken photos of the G42 2 Series parked on the streets of the Bavarian capital city. This was taken after it’s been about fourteen days since its official debut. The spotted G42 looks even better in real-life photos than in press shots wrapped in the eye-catching Thundernight Metallic colour. The G42 2 Series looks more dynamic, classy, and robust with its rich colour. This adds a lot of consistency to an already good design.

On top of this, the new 2 Series Coupe highlights its slender shape, proving that it has spot-on proportions. However, its tail lamps are quite nimble with their 3D outfit but will undoubtedly age better with time. This is the only contentious aspect of the G42 2 Series.

Furthermore, the M badges on the front fenders and the triangle-shaped front air vents are missing that’s why the G42 2 Series becomes one of the standard segments. The 2 Series Coupe also comes with 19-inch Y-spoke non-M 783 light-alloy wheels with a bicolour finish. In the absence of any badging other than the BMW roundel, enthusiasts can only assume that the model is a 220i or a 220d. The interior is dressed in black leather (Vernasca or Sensatec), as can be seen from the outside. The steering wheel is the M Sport option.

From what you and I can tell in these new images, the new BMW G42 2 Series looks good in person and needs to see in person to fully appreciate its styling.
