Lead Toyota Test Driver Killed In Crash with BMW Test Vehicle

The BMW test vehicle had a collision with the Toyota LFA Nurburgring Edition prototype today in Germany. The head-on collision caused both drivers to be sent to the hospital with serious injuries.

Sadly, the driver of the LFA was killed in the crash. The driver was Hiromu Naruse, the creator of the LFA and personal driver of Toyota’s President Akio Toyoda. He was an important person in the development and testing of the Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition and the 2000GT. He started working for Toyota in 1963.

To the family of Naruse, please accept our sincere condolences. He was a loss to the automobile industry.
