This is the very first time that Mini will venture in the two-wheel segment. The electric scooters are funky, colorful, and can carry two people. It is powered by the electric motor at the rear wheel. Battery charging would not be a problem as these scooter concepts plugs in to any conventional socket. The on-board charging cable can be stowed away when not in use.
The design elements of the Mini scooter is based on the common Mini design elements. The round headlights, hand grips, rear view mirrors, and the band of chrome below the seat are Mini design trademarks.
Interesting enough, the gauge cluster of the Mini Scooter E features a speedometer that also functions as a mobile phone dock. If the scooter is in use, the phone placed in the dock can be used for navigation, music or telephone service. For connectivity, Mini also has a branded helmet with a built in Bluetooth headset.
Since Mini is known for fun, the scooters have a special application using Google Maps that will automatically locate other Mini Scooters in the vicinity. When two scooters meet, a greeting function in the form of an automated full-beam headlight function activates so the two riders can say hello.
The scooter still remains a concept and there is no pricing released yet.
