New Details about the BMW X4 Crossover

Auto Express reports that the BMW’s X4 crossover will be based primarily on the 2011 BMW X3. It will also feature a coupe-like design, twin-hatch system from the 5 Series Gran Turismo, and will be a four seater. Since it will be based on the 2011 BMW X3, we can expect for it to have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel with 181 hp (135 kW / 184 PS) and a turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six petrol with 300 hp (225 kW / 306 PS).

The BMW X4 concept will most likely be revealed in 2011. If the public likes the concept, it can go into production in 2012. Until then, we cannot tell yet if this will make it to production. The BMW X4 will directly compete against Land Rover Evoque and Mercedes GLC.
