Next BMW 3 Series Rumored to feature 150 hp, 1.5-liter, three-cylinder diesel

Autocar, a UK magazine, reports that the BMW 3 Series to launch in this year will be offered with a 3 cylinder 1.5 liter diesel engine delivering 150 horsepower. This information are said to originate from BMW insiders. This small powerplant is efficient and is expected to produce less than 100g/km of CO2. This shows an improvement compared to the 320d EfficientDynamics Edition which produces less than 109 grams per kilometer of CO2. It is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder diesel engine delivering 163 horsepower. Autocar also reports that the new 3 Series will grow in size, using a longer and wider platform. The F30 3 Series Sedan will make its debit at the Frankfurt Auto. The convertible and coupe models will follow in 2012.
