Nurburgring Endurance Series: BMW tops with first-ever 2,000 class wins

BMW breaks the record at the new stage of the Nurburgring Endurance Series this weekend. The German carmaker is among the top winners of the four-hour races that were held in two events and hosted by the famed Green Hell. Significantly, BMW scored with class wins for every race. And in the end, they are hailed as the first-ever car maker to claim 2,000 class wins in the history of the Nurburgring Endurance Series.

BMW claimed 2,004 wins under its name in this victorious weekend. The Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 ended the race second on Saturday and third on Sunday. As a result, it recorded two more podium achievements after its win during the opening race. On the other hand, the BMW M6 GT3 was not able to claim an overall victory this time. Christian Krognes, Mikkel Jenses, and David Pittard shared the driving duties this weekend. In addition, the ROWE Racing and BMW Team Schnitzer were also present in the race.

Saturday races had BMW works drivers Alexander Sims and Nick Yelloly in the ROWE Racing BMW M6 GT3 finishing in fifth place. Likewise, BMW drivers Sheldon van der Linde, Augusto Farfus, and Martin Tomczyk claimed the fourth position. Sunday races were led by van der Linde and Tomczyk stealing the sixth position. Further, Yelloly reached the line claiming the twelfth position. Also, BMW DTM driver Lucas Auer debuted on the track with his GT3.

Further achievements on Saturday had BMW M4 GT4 reaching a top-three lock-out in the SP10 class. In addition, various BMW teams claimed victories in the V4, V2, VT2, CUP5, M2 CS, SP4, and H4 classes. Pixum CFN Team Adrenalin Motorsport and Bonk Motorsport’s Team Hofor Racing gained another one-two achievement in the class on Sunday. As an overall result, BMW overwhelmingly achieved more than 2,000 class wins. Certainly, it was a great weekend for BMW on the track.
