A redesigned BMW M3 Coupe will be launched in 2014. The design language of the 2014 BMW M3 Coupe (or could still be badged M4 according to insiders) will be based on the upcoming 4 Series which will be released a year earlier in 2013. Of course, the typical M design cues for the interior and exterior will also be included.
What will be its powerplant? BMW announced that the current generation M3 is the last one to be offered with the V8 naturally aspirated engine so this upcoming vehicle will offer a new powerplant. Will it be an inline-six turbo or a newly designed V6?
Albert Biermann, head of product development at M, said that the new M3 or M4 will not have torque vectoring. Instead, it will feature an electronically controlled differential like the one in the BMW M5.
