Here is a photo rendering of the future BMW front-wheel drive vehicle by Autocar UK. The naming convention has not yet been established according to sources. However, this is commonly referred to as a 1 Series model or the UKL Sub-Compact. Rumors say that this is a small stylish city car that will share its platform with the next generation MINI.
This future car’s new three-cylinder engine will provide versatility and high fuel efficiency. It will be based on a new front-wheel drive platform and aluminium-intensive chassis. It will be a traditional five-door hatchback scheduled to arrive in Europe in September 2013.
It has its engine mounted transversely under a comparatively short bonnet. This will increase the amount of available space in the interior and the rear. A smaller kidney grille that is pushed further back will also be seen in the vehicle.
