Photos – 17th BMW Art Car displayed at the world’s first exclusive BMW M Showroom

The 17th BMW Art Car made its Southeast Asian debut in Singapore. It was showcased at the Munich Automobiles Showroom and Service Centre, the world’s first dedicated BMW M dealer last July 11th and 12th, 2011. Based on the BMW M3 GT2, the 17th BMW Art Car is created by world renowned pop artist Jeff Koons. Guests were amazed at the appearance of the car and its intricate design.

Mr. Joel Chang, General Manager of Munich Automobiles and Mr. Niel Fiorentonos, Managing Director at BMW Group Asia took the honor of unveiling the 17th Art Car. It was surely a sight to behold.

After the two day display, BMW Asia held a private charity auction together with the National University Health System on July 13th, 2011. Inspired by the Jeff Koons’ BMW Art Car, a unique artwork titled “Velocity” has been created by hunk – a contemporary art and design collective based in Singapore, and will be the principle auction item along with other collectables and BMW memorabilia. All proceeds collected at the auction will be donated to the NUH Patientcare National Charity Fund to raise funds and provide financial assistance for underprivileged patients.

The three day display and private auction was a huge success. Please stay tuned for more activities and event hosted by BMW Asia and Munich Automobiles.
