Photos – BMW M5 Concept Debuts at 2011 Shanghai Pre-show Press Event

The new BMW M5 Concept has been previewed at a BMW Press event Shanghai, just a few days before it makes its official debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. The decision to hold the preview in China is in line with BMW’s efforts to increase the popularity of the brand in Asia. China is BMW’s biggest Asian market so it makes sense to give the Chinese market a headstart for the BMW M5 Concept. The BMW M5 Concept will be launched this year and will be powered by a new TwinPower V8 turbocharged engine rumored to deliver between 560-565 horsepower. No additional technical specifications has been revealed yet. Before hitting production, the concept vehicle will undergo some minor changes, but the general design and appearance will remain the same. Here are a few photos from Shanghai:
