In a recent interview of Dr. Klaus Draeger by German Magazine Auto Motor Und Sport, he reveals that a two-cylinder engine from BMW is a big possibility. Draeger further spills that ideally, the the engine will have a capacity of 500 cubic centimers per cylinder and an output of 80 or 100 horsepower.
The first rumors of a two-cylinder engine broke out last June. The confirmation was no surprise, based in BMWs recent support for the development of small and highly-efficient engines. BMW plans to make the three and four cylinder engines their distinguishable mark against competitors.
Draeger also confirmed that a front-wheel drive BMW powered by efficient engines will appear. These new engines could most likely replace the expensive hybrid systems that are not fuel efficient.
