Premiering soon, the BMW I teases us with the new ix3

The BMW I team offers us a preview of the new iX3 (G08) SUV platform on their Facebook and Instagram platforms under the slogan “Keep an ‘i’ on it”. In a matter of days, the first images and specifics of the electric sports vehicle pioneer of the brand will officially emerge.

The G08 generation of the X3 will transform into an elegant and alluring vehicle under the title iX3.

As part of the BMW–Brilliance Auto Partnership, the iX3 will be produced at the plant in Shenyang, China. Starting in the second half of 2020, BMW’s iX3 will be available in most regions of the world. Unfortunately, the U.S clients will not be able to purchase the SUV.

Nevertheless, the latest BMW iX3 offers a host of impressive engineering and technological breakthroughs in terms of electrical architecture.

The electric powertrain includes a 75 kWh Li-Ion high voltage battery with smart cell architecture and power management. The electrical system also produces a maximum power of 210 kW/ 286 PS (282 hp). The power is only transmitted to the rear axle, in traditional BMW style. The latest iX3 will sport a pure electric range of more than 440 kilometers as per the WLTP cycle.

It remains unclear at the moment if the new iX3 gets an xDrive version as well in the near future. In addition, to further distinguish it from conventional X3 versions, the G08 generation will also receive a model-specific exterior specification.

In addition, the latest iX3 presents the aerodynamic wheels, which are said to maximize aerodynamic flow and minimize drag by up to 5 percent, while also helping to increase driving range and minimize electrical consumption.

We will hear more about the new BMW iX3 in just a few days.
