The vehicle will be available in the market in 2014.

Built on top of the BMW Concept Active Tourer, this midsize-compact van features an exclusive Gold Race Orange exterior paintwork. The interior and compartment are also very spacious — perfect for long travels and for carrying sports equipment. It even includes a carrier system for two bicycles integrated into the interior. The BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor is a plug-in hybrid with an electric motor and a combustion engine which normally has a range of well over 30 kilometers in all-electric mode. The BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor’s lithium-ion high-performance battery can be recharged from a standard 220V domestic socket and energy can be recovered at both axles of the car and fed back into the lithium-ion high-performance battery to further enhance the eDrive system’s efficiency. The highly sophisticated 1.5-litre BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol unit outputs over 140 kW/190 hp. The result is 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than eight seconds, top speed of 200 km/h (125 mph), average fuel consumption figures of under 2.5 liters per 100 kilometers (113 mpg imp), and CO2 emissions below 60 g/km.
