Report: BMW is Working on 3 Series-Sized EV

To create a decent competitor to the Tesla Model 3, BMW has started working on an electric vehicle as big as the 3 Series. At least that’s what Automobile Magazine reports.

3 Series EV

It’s rather unclear when we can expect the debut, it should be sometime between 2019 and 2022. The company is planning to build big electric cars with a decent driving range for a reasonable price.

Sounds too good to be true? We’ll have to wait and see.

It’s also unknown if the new series will come under BMW marks or the i sub-division. If the rumors are to be believed, it will borrow most of the features from the future BMW X3 eDrive.

What’s also possible is that we are expecting two versions of this new EV. One will come with a rear-wheel drive and 235-kW motor and another, an xDrive, will have 300-kW one.

The expected driving range is between 250 and 315 miles.
