It’s a solid growth for BMW Motorrad as they achieve 7.7% growth in the first quarter of 2016.
In the first three months of the year alone, sales have skyrocketed to 33,788 motorcycles and maxi scooter units delivered. Compared to the same period last year, BMW Motorrad achieved a solid sales growth of 2418 more units. For March alone, 16,465 units were delivered worldwide. It is a steady month-on-month growth if compared to the 15,912 units sold for March 2015. That’s a 3.5 % growth in sales.
BMW Motorrad Head of Sales and Marketing Heiner Faust says that this is their best quarter sales of all time. They are positive that the trend will continue for the remaining quarters of 2016 as they continue to receive a steady stream of orders. Thanks to the model range being very familiar to the consumers, BMW Motorrad is on to a very good year.
Particular growth increases came from the European and Asian regions. Strong sales were in Germany, France, Spain, Great Britain and China.
The bestselling model is the R 1200 GS travel endure, followed by the R 1200 GS Adventure. Both sold a total of 11,391 units for the quarter. The BMW S 1000 RR and BMW S 1000 XR continue to rake in sales with 2,385 units and 2,206 units sold respectively. Faust says they are happy with the sales of their new models, R 1200 RS sports tourer and the S 1000 XR Adventure bike, but it is the overall range that really experienced a solid success this quarter.
It was a great opportunity to show what the bikes can do in a tough endurance test for the R 1200 GS at the GS Trophy 2016. There were no technical glitches and the ride was good even in bad weather during the seven day competition.
