A BMW 2 Series prototype was involved in an accident on A72 Autobahn near Zwickau in Germany. SZ-Online, a German publication, reported that the testing engineer who was driving the BMW 228i prototype in high speeds lost control of the car and hit a guard rail. Only minor injuries were inflicted on the driver. The 2 Series will be introduced to the market in November in sporty coupe and convertible variants using a rear-wheel drive architecture.
