BMW insiders say that the official unveiling of the new 2012 F10 BMW M5 is just three months away. As the unveiling approaches, BMW engineers continue to test a number of prototypes across Europe. One prototype was spotted on the tarmac of the Schiphol airport in Netherlands.
The next generation 2012 BMW M5 be powered by a V8 turbocharged engine as opposed to the V10 naturally aspirated engine. The 4.4-liter V8 twin-scroll engine delivers 578 horsepower and 530 lb-ft of torque. It accelerates from 0-62 mph in about 4.4 seconds. These spy photos reveal a front-end with expected M trademarks. The bumper is aggressive and it has large air intakes. Thanks to wider fenders, the car gets a more muscular and imposing look.
