Spy Photos – BMW ActiveE spied during testing

A BMW ActiveE prototype has been spotted ongoing testing in Europe. It is spotted with the upcoming 1 Series Coupe and Convertible facelift. The ActiveE is undergoing some intensive road testing based in the MIMI E field trial before it enters the 2011 pilot trial phase. The findings will also help the BMW team in the development of the Megacity Vehicle.

The BMW ActiveE features a new electric drivetrain and a lithium-ion battery-pack developed with the help of SB-LiMotive. It can carry up to four passengers and offers a seven cubic-feet luggage capacity. Simulations show that this vehicle will accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 8.5 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited at 90 mph.
