The 1957 BMW 507 fails to meet the $2 million Auction Reserve

The 1957 BMW 507 is the most valuable Bimmer of all time. It is uncommon, but it has belonged to many iconic people and is probably the most beautiful BMW ever made. People are therefore paying them frankly ridiculous amounts of money.

A splendid 1957 BMW 507 was recently auctioned on a Bring-A-Trailer, and its offer has reached an ironic $1,957,507. Despite the eye-watering number, it did not actually sell because the reserve could not be met. But the almost $2 million BMW 507 is the most expensive car ever to receive an offer on a remarkable Bring-A-Trailer.

This particular 507 is also one of the best looks we’ve ever seen, which is surprising because it’s not perfect. Some chrome work is slightly worn, and the engine is not authentic. Nevertheless, none of this matters because it’s a stunning press. One from just 15 507s factories is black, and one of the least is body-colored Rudge factory wheels. His butterscotch leather is probably also the best color for his black exterior.

It is claimed that a factory replacement gave the car an upgraded engine with an 11-bolt head configuration when the engine was replaced. So it’s still a 3.2-liter OHV V8 with a manual four-speed transmission and rear-wheel drive. In the history of the brand, just that powertrain alone makes the BMW 507 a unique model. The BMW Z8 was the only other car in BMW’s history that was a true luxury convertible with a V8 and a manual transmission, and that car essentially paid tribute to the 507.
