BMW and NYC-based fashion company Kith announced their first-ever partnership only a few days ago. This is a multi-part collaboration between the two brands that started two weeks ago with the launch of the E30 M3 and G82 M4 special editions. The two cars belong to Kith’s owner, Ronnie Fieg, and have been tailored to his tastes. The E30 M3 was the more complex project which spans across 12 months. The car was shipped to Germany where the people worked their magic at BMW Classic. Not only to rebuild it to a perfect condition but also to incorporate some unique design indications.
The second part of the partnership focuses on a line of apparel and accessories crafted for BMW by Kith. A set of 94 items was also released this week. Last is the limited edition BMW M4 by Kith. The limited-production vehicle of 150 units was planned to coincide with Fieg’s one-off M4. There are only three color choices available and all colors are frozen: Frozen Black, Frozen Brilliant White, and Frozen Dark Silver. The Frozen Black model was the first car launched.
An optional carbon fiber roof with a huge “Kith” logo is also available, again with M-colored stripes. Within, the cabin is occupied by Black Competition seats with blue and red highlights.
This BMW M4 Competition x Kith is mechanically exactly the same as a standard M4 Comp. So, it also utilizes a 510 horsepower and 3.0 liter twin-turbo I6, an automatic eight-speed gearbox, and an all-wheel drive. Just 150 vehicles will be produced and will go on sale in July 2021, but will be offered as model year cars in 2022, with a value of $109,250. BMW and Kith opened the pre-order bank on Friday and it was sold out in less than an hour.
