Slowly, the world is recovering from the pandemic of Coronavirus. The Auto China Car Show, the first car venue with a live audience since the pandemic broke out, was attended by people in Beijing , China this past week. As one would anticipate, BMW was one of the participants, as China is right now its biggest single market.
And this, from a range of viewpoints, was an important show. Not only was it the first one with a live audience, but it had a distinct focal point as well. Do you have any guess what it was? You would be right if you said ‘Electrical Cars.’ In these times, the Chinese market is flooded with all kinds of electric vehicles. This really has been going on for some time now, with local car producers selling a wide range of BEVs.
The government has significantly funded this section to try to change the world’s view of China. Heavy pollution has often defined the market. A move to EVs was therefore reasonable and consumers purchase them in bulk. The BMW iX3 will also have to contend with the competition in a terribly crowded market over there and make its way.
BMW’s first ever electric SUV was seen for the first time in China, where it was also assembled. Visitors will see the new BMW i4 Concept alongside it. A glimpse of the forthcoming production model that will also share a lot of its foundations with the iX3.
As we can’t easily fly to Beijing China these days, thanks to modern streaming technology, the people over in Munich put together a quick overview of the two vehicles. It is like you are on the floor of the show by just watching this short video. Check it out and have fun watching these cars!
