Back when the BMW 1 Series Hatchback is on sale, it was considered a one-of-a-kind car in the market. The BMW M140i, with its massive 3.0 litre turbocharged I6 engine, was and still is the enthusiast darling of the 1 Series range. It’s also a great car for tuners to make ridiculous amount of power with now that it’s getting older.
The standard BMW M140i generates an already powerful 335 horsepower. But in this video, we will get to see this well-tuned BMW M140i by Pure Turbos to put out 750 horsepower.
It’s probably a little excessive. We can’t be sure if the car in this video is rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. But it doesn’t appear to be able to put its power down for hard launches in either case. Every launch appears to be docile, which is likely to keep it from ripping its tires to shreds. Furthermore, putting all that power in a short-wheelbase hatchback defeats the purpose of the vehicle.
This car, however, demonstrates only how powerful its engine can be. So, if you own a BMW M140i, you can easily generate 400-500 horsepower and have a blast with your supercar. You could even take on the new BMW M3 Competition, as the M140i is significantly lighter and can easily produce the same amount of power. The M140i is popular among enthusiasts for a reason: it’s a fantastic all-around package, and the fact that it can be tuned to this level of power only adds to its appeal.
