[Video] BMW M235i xDrive Gran Coupe at Hockenheim GP Track

In some segments, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is nothing more than an attempt by Munich to remain relevant. This section includes others like the Mercedes-Benz Audi A3 Sedan or CLA class.

The reason for it is that there’s a decent hot piece of change along that segment and it is such a waste not to try and grab any. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, is popularly known as the top range model. It is significantly more powerful and is way easy to drive. Is it better than the BMW M235i xDrive Gran Coupe, which was first released some six years ago?

Obviously not, but you shouldn’t compare both of them. On the UKL FWD platform, one was built, while the other is an RWD vehicle. The BMW M235i xDrive Gran Coupe, nevertheless, is a decent car.

The reality is, it’s more than they can handle for most people. And it speaks loudly of how efficient this little four-door coupe was since it was able to take some hot laps in a proper course like Hockenheim. It might not be the quickest one out there, but other cars wouldn’t even cross the finish line as I said.

The people at Sport Auto completed this specific hot lap. Uwe Sener was the driver who has a lot of experience. The Mercedes-AMG A35 4Matic made it on 2:04.9, his fastest lap time with 300 HP M235i Gran Coupe was 2:06.1 and was respectable but lent to his competitor.

But the BMW managed 0.2 seconds to overcome the Audi S4 Avant and 0.6 seconds to overcome the Leon Cupra R ST. However, the Audi is a diesel now, and the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 pneus was presumably not going.
