Video – BMW M3 GT build up process after a Road America crash

Road America has been gracious to the BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team; the BMW M3 GT winning for the past two years.

The win that the BMW RLR Team got this year was exhilarating. The No. 90 BMW M3 GT driven by Joey Hand and Dirk Müller completed 66 laps of the 4.0-mile circuit in the American Le Mans Series race and won by 2.6 seconds. This automatically gave BMW a six point lead in the Manufacturer point standings.

But as a window opens, another closes. Lady luck has not been so gracious to the other GT car. The No. 92 BMW M3 GT driven by Bill Auberlen and Tommy Milner was hit hard from behind and got involved in a high-energy crash — basically destroying the vehicle. The chassis was permanently damaged, but no serious injuries were inflicted on the drivers. No. 92 retired from the race early and the No.90 continued for the win.

BMW RLR team and crew chief and chief mechanic Greg Cates shares an update on the buildup process for the No. 92 M3 GT on this video:
