The guys from Track Day decided to set up a drag race between a BMW X3 M Competition, a BMW X6 M50i, and an Audi RS3 in what looks like a very strange comparison. In the automotive industry, these cars compete in various categories/segments. But they have very similar power-to-weight ratios, to tell you honestly. And that is why we are here to watch and witness this significant race.
The guys also did the math and the power to weight ratios are as follows. According to them: 9:1 on the RS3, 9.91 on the X6 M50i, and 8.3 on the X3 M Competition. X3 M has an unusual ratio. As you might note, and that’s because this model has been tuned a bit to generate about 600 HP at the wheel.
So, the guys agreed to make amends with this disparity in strength. The X3 M Competition was therefore packed with people, adding a little weight even to the odds. Well, to make sure the findings are not just a fluke. They set up three runs for the cars and things went down as you probably expect them to. The X3 M Competition, including the 523-HP BMW X6 M50i and its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, does have a lot more power than the other two.
As for the Audi, the car here was the lightest and worked very well. It was also a tiny bit tuned, you might tell, as it used 93-octane petrol. However, to be frank, that’s not exactly a mind-bending benefit. In reality, the RS3 managed to beat the overall X6 and that’s about as much as you would expect from it.
