Joe Achilles drives the BMW’s iconic M3 Competition model, the first-ever all-wheel-drive M3 in history, and he seems to love it. Check out the video below and see a few modifications to his cars.
His M3 Competition xDrive received a new intake system as one of the last items he worked on. An Evolve Automotive Eventuri induction system is what we’re referring to particularly. Evolve’s carbon fibre intake manifolds are known to increase horsepower and throttle response and reduce intake noise. It has a significant impact on Achilles’ M2 Competition, he claims.
After that, he installed a new carbon fibre strut brace. A carbon fibre strut brace was installed on the S55 engine of the old F80 BMW M3. People who didn’t like the F80 M3 were enamoured with this strut because it looked so good. A dull black metal strut was all BMW M used on the new M3. A new carbon-fibre strut was installed on Achilles, which does not look like the F80 but is a significant improvement over the original support.
Regarding throttle response, the S58 engine’s new intake appears to have significantly improved. The S58 engine is already a monster, so I wasn’t sure if this would make any difference. It’s better for the throttle response and engine noise, according to Achilles.
Right now, the M3 Competition xDrive is the best daily driver’s sports saloon on the market for the average consumer. As Joe Achilles has shown, a few minor tweaks can make a huge difference.
