[Video] Drag Race: Porsche Taycan Turbo S vs M8 Competition Gran Coupe

The most awaited moment finally arrived. The video above shows two of the hottest and most interesting cars launched in the last years.

The BMW M8 Competition Grand Coupe Competition is a brand new Bavarian manufacturer’s range of products. It offers an enormous amount of performance.

The electric cars are all the hype right now, especially when it comes to drag racing. It uses an internal combustion engine.

Coping up with one is a tricky thing. But, the engineers in Munich still did a fantastic job on the F9x M models. It extends to anything from the M5 to the M8, in both variations.

The vehicle that the M8 Competition Grand Coupe Competition has to face today is the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. A vehicle that’s expected to be nearly unbeatable on the race track, at least with a non-supercar model. The M8 Grand Coupe is not generally considered a supercar.

It is powered with 625 HP and a weight of just under 2 tons. However, that output power is achieved high in the revolving range. This means that, off the line, the instant power of the Porsche electric powertrain will make quite a difference. Taycan has more power and torque it is propelled with 761 HP and 1,050 Nm and all-wheel drive. This beast is tough to beat off the line.

So, how is the BMW going to fare? Well, with all honesty, it did pretty well considering it all. Off the line, the Porsche was quicker off the track, but not by much. Heading over 200 km / h, the BMW kept up, although the Porsche had already set some distance between it and the M8.
