Aside from a design update to the 3 Series coupe, the new BMW 435i Coupe also brings a more gadget-focused interior design. One of its main components is the revised, updated and improved iDrive Touch which adds various convenience-enhancing functions to the iDrive Controller, including handwriting recognition and in the future navigation in maps and zoom-in and out capability via “pinch gestures”. The handwriting recognition function allows characters to be entered with the finger by simply “writing” them on the surface of the touchpad. The previous version only offers this via the “Speller” or a circular arrangement of letters in the display that’s controlled by turning the control knob. Here is a footage of the new BMW 435i Coupe’s iDrive Touch while being tested in Lisbon.
