The BMW M2 CS is now turning up in the driveways worldwide. But don’t get too excited yet, as only a small number of products will be made. Therefore, what the BMW M boss defines as the ‘best M car of the moment’ will be experienced by only a handful of individuals. Thank goodness Youtube exists for the rest of us, we can openly see those cars at work. The video illustrates just how the M2 CS operates in German.
The Autobahn System is also known as the ‘Mecca of gear heads’. It is undoubtedly one of the few places where you can potentially max out this impressive BMW M2 CS. There might have some problems even there, as many stretches of the German highways system are beginning to lose their ‘no speed limit’ marks. Nonetheless, there is still hope although a few of them remain available.
Before looking at the action I should claim that M2 CS was not developed to be quick in a straight line exactly. The emphasis was more on how it wanders around corners and how much it provides you control. The suspension had therefore been tweaked, weight lost and aerodynamics and the brakes had been improved. Of course the motor S55 has also been updated under the hood, but this is the least significant overall aspect.
The F82 M4 Rivalry is now shared with the 3-liter mill under the hood. Meaning it produces 450 HP and max torque of550 Nm. With a manual gearbox or an automatic 7-speed DCT one, you may have the M2 CS. But you can also pile up some weight in this situation, which is not generally recommended. The one in the following video is a DCT-equipped version and, to be honest, it displays some truly impressive acceleration statistics.
