[Video] The BMW M4 Convertible at the Nurburgring

There’s something about the BMW M4 Convertible that could leave us astounded by now. We’ve already about the technical bits of the new M3 and M4 models, what we need to know now is the ability to fold the roof. Certainly, the G81 M3 Touring is still on the waiting list. But it needs a little more publicity because the M4 Convertible will be sold everywhere, unlike the Touring M3.

In the video, you will see that the BMW is still massive testing the upcoming prototype. It was on its typical proving ground, at the Nurburgring. The car is sporting in what looks like Frozen Portimao Blue. And showcases the controversial layout which people have been protesting about. Yeah, the convertible is going to wear those massive nostrils upfront as well. There are some tuners out there already working on new bumpers for your vehicle.

Here, the prototype at hand also sports a small amount of camouflage on its hips and rear area in general. We already know what the car is going to look like, but those unique places may be the ones where minor improvements are made to the body, compared to the fixed-roof option, mostly for practical purposes. Most possibly, because of the folding mechanism, the boot opening would be a little different.

And as far as the vehicle itself, this will be the first textile-roofed BMW M4 ever. It’s not like the M4 has a massive history behind it either, which is the second generation of the M model. The M3 Convertible, however, used to have a wide range of roof options, from textile ones to hardtops and to some models that had both. The E46 M3 Convertible, for instance, also had a fixed roof that you could purchase for the winter months.
