If BMW has ever created an unrivaled engine, that would be the McLaren F1’s BMW S70/2 V12 engine. This recent video from Hagerty features a full engine-out cleaning for the superb S70/2 V12 engine.

The German luxury brand designed this masterpiece of an engine in the early 90s. But it still remains to be a one-of-a-kind engine often known as the best engine of all time. Its massive size as a 6.1 liter naturally-aspirated V12 intimidates other engines. Added to this are the enormous dual carbon fiber intakes, striking header design, and gold flake wrapping the exhaust heat shields.

A superb machine to look at out of the car, and a fearsome engine to clean. It will be a crime to damage any part of this extremely rare and valuable machine. A big hand to the experts who had the confidence to give the S70/2 V12 engine a full engine-out cleaning!

Due to McLaren F1s high use, it is impossible to skip cleaning this massive engine. The S70/2 V12 engine in this video impressively has no leaks or issues despite being old and highly used. Still, it needed cleaning for the grime and mold that formed on it. The full engine-out cleaning will allow the McLaren F1 to perform its best without future issues.
