The recent Automobile Magazine report referenced the possibility of the new BMW i8 making fantastic 750 HP.
According to them, BMW will release this ultra-powerful car sometimes between 2020 and 2023. The motor currently used for the production of the i8 can’t possibly do something like that, so it will be replaced with three high-revving electric motors of 25,000 rpm which will combine to a total of 750 HP. The batteries will be upgraded, too, to provide around 480-km drive range.
The current BMW i8 runs on a turbocharged 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol engined and an electric motor, and they both provide 362 HP. Its all-electric range equals 35km, with top speed of 120 km/h. It needs 4.4 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h.
