BMW’s innovative approach to vehicle access has been evident since 2018, when they introduced the BMW Digital Key, allowing customers to unlock, lock, and start their vehicles using their smartphones via NFC. In 2021, BMW advanced this technology with the BMW Digital Key Plus, incorporating ultra-wideband technology for added security and convenience.

This technology is available across various BMW models, including the new MINI family. The BMW Group continues to lead the industry by developing and establishing global standards for digital vehicle access.
