The ALPINA B8 Gran Coupé is not only one of BMW’s most attractive vehicles but also one of its fastest. Despite B8 being an ALPINA, it’s one of the best BMWs you can buy. This new video from AutoTopNL shows how the B8 performs under pressure on the highway.
A car with the ALPINA B8’s level of performance and speed is absurdly silent, yet that’s precisely what you get when you listen to the exhaust. Even more so when you consider the amount of power under the hood. Twin-turbocharged V8 engine designed for the BMW N63 is used in the B8. On the other hand, ALPINA has made significant modifications to the engine, including installing its pistons, turbocharger, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and exhaust system. These parts swap yields 612 horsepower and 690 lb-ft of torque. Only a little more than the BMW M8 Gran Coupe, yet it has a more incredible top speed and feels much leggier than any M car.
