The BMW 507 Roadster has the spotlight these days and it surely has the attention of enthusiasts. Collectors have an eye for it because it is said to be be of the most beautiful cars in BMW history. The finding and restoring of the 507 that Elvis Presley used to own also helped increase its popularity. For those who fancy the 507, its younger brother, the BMW 503 Roadster is up for auction and is also a good alternative.

Yes the BMW 503 is slower than the 507 but it is extremely elegant. When it was launched in 1957, the power folding roof mechanism was revolutionary. It is the perfect mix of Italian design and German engineering. Cars like these used to be made by coach builders. This particular one is no exception. It is one of only 18 ever made by Bertone for the US market and that makes it extremely rare.

Bonhams will be auctioning it off in August at the Quail Lodge Auction but it will come with a very hefty price tag, as expected. The price is heightened by the prizes that this particular car managed to win its class at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. It was also awarded Best in Show at the Santa Fe Concorso.
