Re: Looking for e70 x5 Mileage tampering is a criminal offence and it's not that easy to tamper the mileage on a BMW. I find that sometimes, the reputable dealers are more honest than direct sellers. But hope you find your ideal ride soon! :)

Re: 2008 X5 About $1500 to fix it. I got similar quotes from 2 specialist workshops so it's about there. They replaced the actuator, which is not cheap. But if there are no complications, it's a 2hr job to fix, although you should plan on leaving the car with them for at least half a day.

Re: 2008 X5 Is it intermittent or permanent? If intermittent, it's likely not the active steering itself but some sensor (still not cheap to fix, but cheaper!). Best to contact one of the sponsors in the workshop section for a check and estimate.
