both 205/55-16 and 225/50-16 will fit your rims. they are the tyre sizes from 318i and 6 cylinders (excet 330) respectively. you can even put the 205 in front and 225 at the rear. i currently have this setup on the z3.

205/50-16 like you stated above will make your overall rolling diameter smaller than standard, and your speedo will be overstated.

What are you looking for when you want to change your tyres??
If its comfort you are looking for, then you might want to consider other types of tyres besides the PS or PS2...

Well, I am looking for performance tyre and I hear that Michelin PS is very good in both Dry and Wet wheather. I remember some bros mentioned it is also very durable.

I did some fast corner with current OEM Bridgestone Tyre and it was very scary. I am not whether it is due to my skill or the tyres and I feel it was very noisy too :(

I heard that BMW Advance Driving Course, all BMW 330i is using Micheline PS Tyres. I believed it should be a good tyre :)

Well, if you are after a performance tyre then the PS is a good tyre... I actually use the PS and personally have no complaints about them...

There's another reason why PS is used: because Michelin sponsor. 8)

Currently, my car rims is Star Spoke 136 with OEM Tyre (Bridgestone ER30).

Tyre Size : 16" 225 50 series

If I want to change my tyre to Micheline Tyre PS or PS2.
My questions,
(1) Do I buy the same size ? or should I purchase 16" 205 50 series. My understanding, comfort tyre the wide is much smaller than performance tyre.
(2) Does Micheline Tyre PS2 has 16" ?
(3) What is the price range for 16" Micheline PS Tyre ?

I actually still sourcing for 17" Rims but if I cannot find my dream rims, I will change my car tyre and stick to 16" :( I have no confidence with OEM Tyre.

Thanks in advance :)

Unfortunately, both PS and PS 2 do not come in 225/50/16 :(

Or should i say that there is 225/50 for PS range but the distributor is not bringing in.. As for PS2, it starts from 17"

That y i changed mine to 17"

Re: 16" Tyre

Hi !

Yes ! You are right that PS do not come with 16" 225 50 series. I have checked Micheline Web page.

What happen if I change from 16" 225 50 to 16" 205 50 (PS has this size) ?

I believed the wide will be the same because performance tyre (PS) should be wider then Bridgestone ER30 (OEM Tyre). Am I right ?

Thanks in advance :)

PS is usually narrower, now wider...

Anyway the correct sizing should be 205/55/16 not 205/50/16

What car r u driving ? The 205/55/16 should be ok for the 318i but you can still use it for the 320 la... no prob..

The 328i came stock with 205/55/16 !!?? Wheel spin is daily event man :) NICE.............
