2 problems....

Got 2 problems and hope bros here can solve the mystery...

1st problem: "szzs" sound from steering wheel when turning. But after I top up some ATF, the sound gets lesser now. Is it the power steering pump fault as I heard this pump causes problem all the time?

2nd problem: This is more serious... When I stop my car from low speed ie 20km/h, I can hear a obvious single "tok" sound coming from the front wheel. I can feel slight vibration from steering and brake pedal as well. But from high speed, it disappears. I have changed my front control arm bush to Powerflex and checked liao and they looked ok so no control arm bush problem there. Could it be the ball joint or control arm itself? Or is it the 1st problem above causing this?

And nope... my warranty just expired. So. help!!!!!! :verysad:

Bro,

The first problem sounds like the power steering pump seizing up liao, i got mine changed before, the culprit was thebearing inside the pump. Pretty ex, think it was close to Sing $1000, got it replaced under warranty. Check your fluid, may be a leak somewhere... Simple way will be to remove the belt and turn the pump, can check from there for pump bearing failure.

2nd problem may be that the control arm or the stabiliser bar is gone, not surprising for car of ur age la... There is more than one bushing for the control arm...

Did you check on the front absorbers as well?
