Fwah!

So many different models for so many different needs and spending power..
Dual turbo chargers and double clutch system like what the VW Golf GTI is offering. :D

Re: 335i Anyone?

Looks sweet! but 6.0 sec not that fast leh... considering that it has only 13 hp less than an M3

But the mod potential is there with the twin turbo?

Yummm..... Time to save up!

Forget abt saving la, autocar states;

"The 3.0-litre straight six (right) is said to produce around 330bhp – up 72bhp on the new 330i and just 13bhp shy of today’s 3.2-litre M3. The new powerplant takes a leaf out of BMW’s latest diesel engine development by employing two turbochargers.

The new BMW won’t be the only model to carry the 335 name. Also under development is a new 3-series model fitted with the same twin turbocharged 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel that’s used in the 535d."

ie, the car ain't coming to spore at all.

why not? it is a matter of interpreting the english language here. wat I thought it meant was that the new 3L engine will be using the same technology as the diesel engine...(in first para)

And in the second paragraph, it means that there will be another diesel version of the 335 but using the same diesel engine used in the current 535d..

any england powderful people here like RB can help to clarify? ;)

Re: 335i Anyone?

the new petrol 3 litre tt is being planned and may be produced. i'm waiting for that thank you. hehe. it's called 335i. however it's a magnesium block, may not be able to take high stress high boost. let's see how overseas aftermarket tuners handle this new valvatronic 6 first.

another model coming out is the 335d. this engine is a development of the turbodiesel 3L currently used in the e46, e39 and e60. and i think also e38 and e65. x series like e53 too. this development adds another turbo to this engine, and this new 3L twin turbo is now used in the e60 already on sale in other countries. i didnt think they will use this engine in the e90, but apparently they now have plans to do so. imagine this, an e90 tt diesel that has more torque than the e60 m5.

The only thing I understood from the report is that my car is still faster by 0.8secs 0-60mph kekekekeke...

That is until the owner change exhaust, air filter and up the boost. This car is gonna beat the next M3 flat once it is modded cause it's so easy for it to exceed 400 bhp!

The 335i seems to have lots of "mod-ability" since its a TC car!
I dont really think so... like RB said, its going to be a mag block which will make it a lot harder to go for high boost. but you never know... anything is possible with tons of money these days... also, this twin turbo system for the inline 6 should be something similar to the sequential system that they used on the last generation supra turbo. if this is the case, its gonna be complex.

I dont think that BMW is dumb enough to let that happen. whats the point of buying the M3 then? it will just be cannibalising on the sales of the M cars. I am sure that they realize that people out there will mod their cars and at the end of the day, if they make it so simple to be faster than an M3 then they might as well stop making M cars altogether.
