520i Battery

Guys normally how long the battery needs to be changed? 2years?

I have been having this warning for 4 days already based on my volt meter I still have 12.5 volt during start-up and I don't feel it is the alternator problem as it showing charging at 14.7 volts during motion.

I don't have any device plug in only with the in car camera which is self battery powered so I don't think is that.

Does changing the battery resolve this warning? and what is the damage like?
or
is it the IBS that is faulty? what will be the damage like?

Sorry just trying to get a feel of the damage and possible causes before I head to workshop and being chopped! lol

thanks

I'm curious about your car camera that is self battery powered, how is the set up like? Even if you have an external battery pack for car cam, your car battery still need to be connected to charge the car cam package right? Either way its still may be draining your car battery. So there will still be a possibility that the car camera be the one causing this warning.
One way to find out if it is the car cam issue, unplug your car cam and see if this warning still comes on the next day.
Other option you can do is to go to any workshop you trust and ask them to do a diagnose (just need to pay a token sum, some workshop may even say no need pay), thereafter if anything major (Battery, Alternator problem, etc ..), then go claim PML.

Hi.
Not the car cam issue confirmed by switching off and unplug the external battery. fault is still there.

No choice. Change the main battery resolved the issue.
